Bacteria generates electricity from the air’s ambient humidity

30 years ago bacteria found in the mud of Potomac River had some unique properties.  Today that bacteria can generate electricity from think air.  Geobacter can produce a sustained voltage of around 0.5 volts across a 7-micrometre-thick film, with a current density of around 17 microamperes per square cm.

Mars helicopter attached to the Perseverance rover

The launch window for the Mars 2020 Perseverance rover is opening in 14 weeks.  The Mars Helicopter has been attached and final preparations of the spacecraft continue at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida.
