Bacteria generates electricity from the air’s ambient humidity

30 years ago bacteria found in the mud of Potomac River had some unique properties.  Today that bacteria can generate electricity from think air.  Geobacter can produce a sustained voltage of around 0.5 volts across a 7-micrometre-thick film, with a current density of around 17 microamperes per square cm.
